Dr. Emilia Villegas is a specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology who has trained extensively in many aspects of gynecology including Endometriosis, Fibroids, and Hysterectomy. She received her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the Faculty of Medicine of University of Alcalá de Henares (Madrid, Spain) and trained in Fertility and Endoscopy at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the University Hospital of Pennsylvania (USA). Her doctoral thesis focused on the “Perinatal aspects of pregnancy twins in our environment” and she has more than a decade of experience working in women’s health.
She is the creator and coordinator of the Endometriosis Unit of the Maternal-Infant Hospital,the current Reference Center in Spain and Europe, in 2014, and a reviewer of the Women’s Health – Open Journal (WHOJ) since 2017. Dr. Villegas is a member of many organizations including the Spanish Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics (SEGO) and the Society of Andalusian Gynecology and Obstetrics (SAGO). She has given more than 146 presentations, published 2 books as a primary author, and has had publications in 26 scientific journals as well.
